Privacy Policy
Keystar is operated by a solo developer committed to keeping your data safe and under your control. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
What we collect
- Waitlist email: If you submit your email on keystar.app, we store it only to notify you when the beta or product launches.
- App usage (Keystar app): Typing sessions, lessons completed, and accuracy are stored locally on your device by default. Nothing is transmitted.
- Cloud sync (Premium, opt-in): If you choose to enable cloud sync, your progress is transmitted over HTTPS to our storage provider and associated with an account you create. You may delete your account and all data at any time.
- Analytics (opt-in only): Anonymous usage counts via a privacy-friendly analytics provider. No fingerprinting. No third-party advertising trackers. Ever.
- Crash reports (opt-in only): If enabled, diagnostic crash data is sent to help us fix bugs. No personally identifying information is included.
What we do not collect
- Keystrokes outside of active lesson sessions
- Location data
- Contacts, photos, or microphone input
- Advertising identifiers
How we use your data
Only to operate the product: deliver your waitlist signup confirmation, sync your progress if you opt in, respond to support requests, and fix bugs. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your rights
You can request deletion of your waitlist email or cloud-synced progress at any time by emailing hello@keystar.app. Users in the EU/UK have rights under GDPR, and users in California have rights under CCPA — we honor these globally as a matter of principle.
Children
Keystar is safe for all ages but we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If a parent or guardian requests deletion of a minor's account, we will comply promptly.
Changes
If we update this policy materially, we will update the date above and notify waitlist subscribers by email before the changes take effect.
