Keystar is operated by a solo developer committed to keeping your data safe and under your control. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
What we collect
- Waitlist email: If you submit your email on keystar.app, we store it only to notify you when the beta or product launches.
- Practice data: Lessons, scores, mistakes, your selected mode, and settings are saved locally in this browser using IndexedDB. The public beta does not upload your practice data. Clearing this site’s data deletes that progress; it does not sync between devices.
- Website requests: Our web server receives standard connection information, including your IP address and requested URL. Fonts may load from Google Fonts, which receives connection information when your browser requests them. The beta has no advertising trackers, cloud accounts, or analytics SDK.
- Sharing: Choosing Share progress copies a report to your clipboard. You choose where to paste it.
What we do not collect
- Keystrokes outside of active lesson sessions
- Location data
- Contacts, photos, or microphone input
- Advertising identifiers
How we use your data
Only to operate the product: serve the website, send requested launch updates, respond to support requests, and fix bugs. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your rights
You can request deletion of your waitlist email at any time by emailing hello@keystar.app. Users in the EU/UK have rights under GDPR, and users in California have rights under CCPA — we honor these globally as a matter of principle.
Children
Keystar is safe for all ages but we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If a parent or guardian requests deletion of a minor's submitted email, we will comply promptly.
Changes
If we update this policy materially, we will update the date above and notify waitlist subscribers by email before the changes take effect.
